Starry blenny

Salarias ramosus
French name : Blennie ramosus

The starry blenny is a marine combtooth blenny in the family Blenniidae, native to the western Pacific. It has a dark brown body speckled with numerous small white-blue spots, a lighter tail, and prominent feathery cirri above the eyes, giving it an appealing, characterful look. It is a mostly peaceful, personable bottom-dweller that perches on rocks and hops about, though it can be territorial toward other blennies, so only one per tank is advised. A reef aquarium with abundant live rock and surfaces for grazing is ideal. It is primarily a herbivore that feeds on filamentous algae, helping to control nuisance growth, and should be supplemented with dried seaweed, algae-based foods, and occasional meaty items. Hardy and reef-safe, it is a popular and beginner-friendly addition that adds personality to the aquarium.
