Allen's damsel

Pomacentrus alleni
French name : Demoiselle d'Allen

Allen's damsel is a small, vividly colored damselfish (family Pomacentridae) from the western Pacific, associated with coastal and lagoon reefs. It displays a brilliant electric-blue body with a contrasting yellow to orange belly and underside, a pattern that stays intense throughout life. It is an active, hardy fish that can be territorial and feisty, especially in smaller tanks, but is less aggressive than many damsels. It may be kept singly or in a small group in a large system with plenty of rockwork. A reef aquarium with abundant live rock offers hiding places and helps disperse aggression. It is an omnivore that grazes on algae and zooplankton and readily takes flakes, pellets, and frozen foods. It is reef-safe and undemanding, making it a good beginner marine fish, though its boldness should be considered when choosing tankmates.
