Picasso triggerfish

Rhinecanthus aculeatus
French name : Baliste Picasso

The Picasso triggerfish, also called the lagoon triggerfish, is a marine fish of the family Balistidae, widespread across the Indo-Pacific. It has a striking pattern of bold lines and blocks in black, white, blue and yellow across a tan body, with a bright yellow-edged mouth and a small dorsal spine used to lock into crevices. It is a bold, intelligent and territorial fish that becomes increasingly aggressive with age and should be housed with equally robust tankmates. It needs a spacious tank with plenty of rockwork to establish territory and to wedge into at night. It is a hardy carnivore feeding on meaty foods including shrimp, shellfish, squid and hard-shelled invertebrates that help wear down its strong teeth. It is not reef-safe, as it preys on crustaceans and may nip corals. Its personality and toughness make it popular for fish-only aquariums with experienced keepers.
