Pink-streaked wrasse

The pink-streaked wrasse is a small marine fish of the family Labridae, native to reefs of the western Pacific. It is a diminutive, secretive wrasse with a reddish to pink body marked by fine longitudinal pink and orange streaks and subtle green tones. Unlike many larger wrasses it is peaceful and retiring, spending much of its time hidden among rockwork and rubble, and it can be kept singly or in small groups given enough cover. It is well suited to nano and peaceful reef aquariums, where its small size and mild temperament make it an ideal microfauna predator. It is a carnivore feeding on tiny crustaceans and other small invertebrates, including copepods and amphipods, supplemented with small frozen foods. A mature tank with abundant live rock and established pod populations helps it thrive. Reef-safe and non-aggressive, it is prized as one of the smaller, more manageable wrasses for compact systems.
