Yellowfin anthias

Pseudanthias parvirostris
French name : Anthias parvirostris

The yellowfin anthias is a small marine reef fish in the family Serranidae, subfamily Anthiadinae, found on deeper reef slopes of the western Pacific. It has a slender, colorful body with pinkish to reddish tones and yellow highlights on the fins, typical of the planktivorous anthias. Like other anthias, it lives in aggregations near reef drop-offs, feeding on zooplankton drifting in the current, and can change sex from female to male within the group. It is best kept in a peaceful reef aquarium with strong water flow, ample swimming space, and secure rockwork for shelter. It benefits from frequent feedings of small meaty foods such as enriched brine shrimp, mysis, and copepods to match its high metabolism. It is reef-safe and does well in small harems. Its feeding demands make it suitable for intermediate keepers.
