Koran angelfish

Pomacanthus semicirculatus
French name : Ange semicirculatus (koran)

The koran angelfish is a large marine angelfish of the family Pomacanthidae, widespread across the Indo-Pacific on coral and rocky reefs. It is famous for its dramatic change from juvenile to adult: juveniles are dark blue with concentric white and electric-blue curved lines, while adults become yellowish-green to brown with blue spotting and a blue-edged tail. It is semi-aggressive and territorial as it matures, and is best kept singly in a large, well-established system with robust tankmates. A spacious aquarium of several hundred liters with abundant live rock for grazing and shelter is required. It is an omnivore that feeds on sponges, tunicates and algae in the wild, so its diet should include sponge-based angel preparations, marine algae and meaty frozen foods. It is generally not reef-safe, as adults commonly nip stony and soft corals and clam mantles.
