Blue-girdled angelfish

Pomacanthus navarchus
French name : Ange navarchus

The blue-girdled angelfish (Pomacanthus navarchus), also called the majestic angelfish, is a marine angelfish of the family Pomacanthidae, native to reefs of the western Pacific. Adults are richly colored with orange-yellow flanks, blue edging, and a broad blue band across the body, making it one of the most attractive angelfish. It is a semi-aggressive, territorial fish that is somewhat shy when first introduced and needs plenty of secure hiding places. It is best kept singly with calm to moderately robust tankmates. A large, mature aquarium with abundant live rock for grazing and retreat and stable, high water quality is important. Its diet should include sponge-based angelfish preparations, marine algae, and meaty foods. It is not reliably reef-safe, as it may nip corals and invertebrates. It can be delicate on import and benefits from a well-established system. Captive breeding is not established.
