Carpenter's flasher wrasse

Paracheilinus carpenteri
French name : Labre-fée de Carpenter

Carpenter's flasher wrasse is a small, dazzling reef fish in the family Labridae, found in the western Pacific. Males are especially striking, with red, orange, and blue stripes and elongated dorsal fin rays they flash during display, while females are plainer. It is an active, peaceful fish that swims constantly in open water and is best kept singly or as a male with several females, allowing the male to flash his colors in courtship. It is reef-safe. It does well in an established reef aquarium with open swimming space, a secure lid to prevent jumping, and frequent small feedings of meaty foods and prepared diets to maintain its energy and color. Peaceful tank mates suit it best, as it can be shy around boisterous fish. It is a good choice for reef keepers wanting active color.
