Multibarred angelfish

Paracentropyge multifasciata
French name : Ange nain multifasciata

The multibarred angelfish is a dwarf angelfish (family Pomacanthidae) from the western Pacific, where it inhabits deeper reef slopes. Its tall, laterally compressed body is marked with numerous vertical black and white bars, accented by yellow toward the rear, giving a bold, ornate pattern. Unlike many dwarf angels it is relatively shy and can be delicate, requiring calm tankmates and a peaceful environment to feel secure. It is best kept singly in a well-established tank. Because it comes from deeper water, it appreciates subdued lighting and plenty of caves and overhangs in a mature reef aquarium rich in live rock. It grazes on algae and microfauna and should be offered a varied diet of marine algae, sponge-based angelfish preparations, and meaty frozen foods. It is considered more demanding than most Centropyge and suits experienced keepers.
