Yellowtail demoiselle

Neopomacentrus nemurus
French name : Demoiselle neopomacentrus

The yellowtail demoiselle is a small marine damselfish in the family Pomacentridae, found on coastal and inshore reefs of the Indo-West Pacific. It has a dusky bluish-gray to brownish body that brightens into a yellow rear and tail, with the yellow becoming more pronounced toward the caudal fin. It is a schooling species that gathers over rubble and reef edges, feeding on zooplankton drifting in the water column. It does well in a marine aquarium with live rock for shelter and open water for swimming, and can be kept in groups where it forms loose schools. It is hardy and adaptable, accepting flake, pellets, and frozen meaty foods. While generally less aggressive than some damselfish, it may defend space in a crowded tank. Its resilience makes it suitable for beginner to intermediate keepers.
