Yellow clown goby

The yellow clown goby is a tiny marine goby in the family Gobiidae, native to reefs of the western Pacific around Okinawa and beyond. It has a stout, bright canary-yellow body and large eyes, and it perches among the branches of small-polyp stony corals such as Acropora. It is a peaceful, endearing species that spends much of its time hopping between coral branches and rock perches rather than swimming in open water. It is well suited to nano and reef aquariums, though it may occasionally nip at SPS coral polyps when settling in. It is reef-safe with most invertebrates and gets along with peaceful tankmates, but multiple males may quarrel in small tanks. It feeds on small meaty foods including mysis, copepods, and finely chopped seafood. Its small size and hardiness make it a good choice for beginners to reefkeeping.
