Longnose butterflyfish

Forcipiger flavissimus
French name : Poisson-pincette à long nez

The longnose butterflyfish, also called the forceps fish, is a butterflyfish in the family Chaetodontidae, widely distributed across the Indo-Pacific. It frequents reef slopes and drop-offs. It is bright yellow with a white face, a black eye bar, and a small dark spot near the tail, and has a distinctive long tubular snout used to pick prey from crevices. Its elongated mouth is its defining feature. It is one of the hardiest and most reef-tolerant butterflyfish, generally peaceful and adaptable to captivity. It can be kept singly or as a compatible pair in a large aquarium with live rock. It uses its snout to feed on small crustaceans and tube worms and readily accepts mysis, brine, and prepared foods. Reef-cautious but often kept with corals; suited to intermediate keepers.
