Three-spot domino damsel

The three-spot domino damsel is a hardy marine damselfish of the family Pomacentridae, ranging widely through the Indo-Pacific. Juveniles are jet black with three brilliant white spots, one on each flank and one on the forehead, while adults darken and often lose the white markings, becoming a dusky sooty color. It is an omnivore that feeds on zooplankton, algae, and small invertebrates. Juveniles often shelter among the tentacles of anemones or the spines of sea urchins, and the species can host in anemones much like clownfish. While very durable and easy to keep, it becomes increasingly territorial and aggressive with age, so it is best added last to a community or kept with robust tankmates. It accepts almost any prepared, frozen, or flake food and needs a tank with ample rockwork to establish territories.
