Reticulate dascyllus

The reticulate dascyllus is a small marine damselfish (family Pomacentridae) from the western Pacific. It has a whitish to grey body overlaid with a fine dark net-like reticulated pattern on the scales, and juveniles associate closely with branching corals. It is a hardy but scrappy fish that can be territorial, especially in small tanks or when established. It is often kept in a small group, which helps distribute aggression, though it may bully more timid tankmates. A reef or fish-only tank with branching corals or rockwork gives it the shelter it naturally seeks. It is an omnivore feeding on zooplankton and algae, and readily accepts flake, pellets, and frozen foods, making it very easy to feed. Its toughness and adaptability make it a good beginner marine fish, provided tankmates are chosen to tolerate its feisty streak.
