Falco hawkfish
The Falco hawkfish, also called the dwarf hawkfish, is a small marine fish of the family Cirrhitidae, widespread across the Indo-Pacific. It has a pale body blotched with red-brown bars and spots, tufted tips on its dorsal spines, and the upward-angled eyes typical of hawkfish. True to its family it perches motionless on rock or coral, then darts out to ambush small prey. It is territorial and can be aggressive toward smaller fish and will hunt ornamental shrimp, so tankmates should be chosen carefully. Usually only one is kept unless a mated pair is established. A reef tank with plenty of rocky perches and open perimeter suits it. It is a carnivore taking frozen mysis, chopped meaty foods, and small crustaceans. It lacks a swim bladder and rests on solid surfaces. It is occasionally bred in captivity.
