Naoko's fairy wrasse

Naoko's fairy wrasse is a small marine wrasse (family Labridae) from the eastern Indian Ocean around Christmas and Cocos Islands. Males are vividly colored with red to pink upper bodies, yellow flanks, and blue and violet highlights in the fins, intensifying during courtship display, while females are more subdued. Fairy wrasses are active, peaceful, and best kept singly or as one male with several females. Males may display and spar but rarely cause harm in a spacious tank. It thrives in a reef aquarium with ample live rock, open swimming room, and a secure lid, as fairy wrasses are prone to jumping. Fully reef-safe, it feeds on zooplankton and small crustaceans, accepting mysis, enriched brine shrimp, and finely prepared foods offered several times daily.
