Lubbock's fairy wrasse

Lubbock's fairy wrasse is a small reef wrasse in the family Labridae, found in the western Pacific. It inhabits rubble and reef-edge zones, often in loose groups. Mature males show variable but vivid coloration, typically with pink to orange bodies, yellow and violet highlights, and fine markings that flash during courtship display. Females are plainer orange-red. It is peaceful and reef-safe, making it a good choice for community reef aquariums. Like other fairy wrasses it is an accomplished jumper, so a covered tank is essential, along with live rock, open swimming room, and calm tankmates. It feeds on zooplankton and small crustaceans and should be fed frequent meaty foods such as mysis and enriched brine. One male with several females works well in larger systems. Suited to intermediate keepers.
