Springer's damsel

Chrysiptera springeri
French name : Demoiselle de Springer

Springer's damsel is a small marine damselfish in the family Pomacentridae, native to the western Pacific around Indonesia and the Philippines. It is a deep blue-black fish adorned with electric blue lines and spots across the head and body, retaining its bright coloration into adulthood unlike many damsels that dull with age. It is one of the more peaceful damselfish, though it can be territorial in small tanks and is best kept singly or in a group added simultaneously. A reef aquarium with plentiful live rock, caves, and hiding places suits this shy species, which retreats into crevices when startled. It is an omnivore feeding on zooplankton and algae, and readily accepts mysis, brine shrimp, and prepared foods. Hardy and reef-safe, it is a good choice for reef keepers wanting a durable, colorful small fish.
