Two-colored chromis

Chromis dimidiata
French name : Chromis dimidiata

The two-colored chromis, sometimes called the half-and-half chromis, is a small marine damselfish of the family Pomacentridae, native to the Indian Ocean and Red Sea. It has a striking body that is dark on the front half and bright white toward the rear, creating a clean two-tone appearance. It is a planktivore that gathers in shoals above coral reefs, feeding on zooplankton drifting in the current. Its schooling behavior and constant open-water swimming make it an active display fish. It is hardy and reef-safe, well suited to beginners, and is best kept in a group to bring out natural shoaling behavior and reduce squabbling. It accepts most frozen and prepared foods and benefits from moderate flow and open swimming space above the rockwork. It is generally peaceful, though some intraspecific chasing occurs as a pecking order forms.
