Vermiculated angelfish
The vermiculated angelfish, also called the singapore angelfish, is a marine angelfish of the family Pomacanthidae, native to the western Pacific and eastern Indian Ocean. It has a pale body covered in fine, worm-like dark markings, with a yellow-and-blue face and a yellow tail, giving it a distinctive vermiculated pattern. It is an omnivore that feeds on algae, sponges, tunicates, and small invertebrates over coastal and lagoon reefs. It is usually seen singly or in pairs. It is a relatively peaceful angelfish but can be shy and slow to begin feeding in captivity, so patience and a mature tank are important. It needs plenty of live rock for grazing and shelter plus a varied diet of angelfish preparations, algae, and mixed frozen foods. It is not reliably reef-safe, as it may nip corals and clam mantles, so caution is advised in reef systems.
