Dusky angelfish

Centropyge multispinis
French name : Ange nain multispinis

The dusky angelfish is a small marine dwarf angelfish of the family Pomacanthidae, widely distributed across the western Indian Ocean and Red Sea. It has a deep, laterally compressed body in shades of dusky brown to blue-black, often with faint vertical barring and electric-blue margins on the fins. Like most Centropyge, it is a spirited, territorial fish that grazes constantly on algae and detritus. It is best kept singly in a given tank unless the aquarium is large, as males defend feeding territories. It coexists with most peaceful reef fish but may nip at some corals and clam mantles. A mature reef aquarium with abundant live rock for grazing and hiding suits it well. Diet should include marine algae, spirulina, and small meaty foods to supplement natural browsing. It is a protogynous hermaphrodite; captive breeding is uncommon but the species is generally hardy once established.
