Flame angelfish

Centropyge loriculus
French name : Poisson-ange flamme

Centropyge loricula, the flame angelfish, is a dwarf angelfish in the family Pomacanthidae, native to reefs of the central and western Pacific. It is one of the most striking small marine fish, with a brilliant red-orange body crossed by several vertical black bars and blue-black margins on the rear dorsal and anal fins. It is a bold, active swimmer that is semi-aggressive toward other dwarf angels and similarly shaped fish, but generally peaceful in a well-stocked reef. Only one should be kept per tank unless it is very large. It thrives in a mature aquarium with abundant live rock for grazing and shelter. Diet should be varied, including marine algae, spirulina, mysis, and prepared angelfish foods. It is considered reef-safe with caution, as some individuals nip at soft corals and clam mantles. Established, well-fed specimens are hardy and long-lived.
