Eibl's angelfish

Eibl's angelfish is a dwarf angelfish of the family Pomacanthidae, found in the eastern Indian Ocean, notably around western Australia and Indonesia. It has a pale silvery-white body crossed by fine orange vertical bars, with black-edged fins and a dark-rimmed rear body, making it a strikingly patterned dwarf. It is a semi-aggressive, territorial fish best kept singly, though it is more peaceable than many angelfish. It grazes throughout the day and can be shy when first introduced. It is a mimic of certain surgeonfish in the wild. A mature reef tank with plentiful live rock for grazing and refuge suits it. Its diet should combine marine algae and spirulina with meaty foods; it may nibble at some corals and clam mantles. It is a protogynous hermaphrodite and is rarely bred in captivity.
