Bicolor angelfish

The bicolor angelfish is a dwarf angelfish (family Pomacanthidae) from the western Pacific reefs. It has a simple but bold coloration, with the front third of the body bright yellow, the rear deep blue, a yellow tail, and a small blue mark above the eye. It is a moderately hardy fish that can be shy at first and mildly territorial toward other dwarf angels; it is usually kept singly. A well-established aquarium with abundant live rock offers grazing surfaces and hiding places that help it acclimate, as new individuals can be sensitive. It is an omnivore that grazes on algae and microfauna and should receive a varied diet of marine algae, spirulina, and meaty frozen foods. In reef tanks it may nip at some corals and clams, so it is only cautiously reef-safe. It suits marine keepers with some experience who can provide a mature system.
