Twospot hogfish

Bodianus bimaculatus
French name : Labre à deux taches

The twospot hogfish is a marine wrasse of the family Labridae, native to the western Pacific. It has an elegant yellow body with a magenta to pink stripe along the upper back and a small dark spot on the dorsal fin and near the tail, making it a colorful deepwater species. It is a carnivore that hunts small crustaceans and other invertebrates over reef slopes, and it typically comes from deeper water than many aquarium wrasses. It is a relatively peaceful hogfish that stays small compared to its relatives, making it suitable for larger reef and fish aquariums. It needs plenty of rockwork for shelter, a secure lid, and a varied meaty diet of mysis, chopped seafood, and enriched frozen foods. It is generally reef-safe with corals but may prey on small ornamental shrimp and other tiny invertebrates.
