Sebae clownfish
The sebae clownfish is an anemonefish of the family Pomacentridae, native to the northern Indian Ocean. Adults are dark brown to black with two white or yellowish bars and a yellow tail, though coloration shifts markedly with age, which sometimes causes confusion with other clownfish. It is a hardy, moderately territorial fish that forms a hierarchical pair, the dominant individual becoming a large female. It is best kept singly or as a bonded pair and can be aggressive toward other clownfish and tankmates near its territory. In the wild it associates mainly with the leathery sea anemone. It adapts well to reef and fish-only aquariums with or without a host anemone. It accepts a broad omnivorous diet of frozen, prepared, and pellet marine foods. Like many clownfish it is bred commercially in captivity, and tank-raised specimens are hardy and readily available.
