Maldive clownfish
The Maldive clownfish is an anemonefish in the family Pomacentridae, found in the Indian Ocean around the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and nearby reefs. It associates with the magnificent sea anemone in the wild. It is a warm orange overall with a single white head bar and black-edged pelvic and anal fins, giving it a cleaner, less banded look than many clownfish. Its uniform orange body is distinctive. It is relatively peaceful for a clownfish and hardy in captivity. It does well in a reef aquarium and, while it does not require a host anemone, it will readily adopt one if available. Kept singly or as a bonded pair, it accepts a varied diet of meaty and prepared foods including mysis, brine, and marine flakes. It can be bred in the home aquarium. Suited to beginner and intermediate keepers.
