Green neon rasbora

Microdevario kubotai
French name : Rasbora Kubotai

The green neon rasbora is a tiny cyprinid described in the genus Microdevario, native to fast-flowing forest streams of Thailand and Myanmar in Southeast Asia. Despite its common name it is not a true Rasbora. Its body is translucent with a striking lime-green to golden sheen that intensifies under good conditions and in planted surroundings. It is a peaceful, highly social micro-fish that must be kept in a large shoal to feel secure and show its best color; small groups tend to hide and fade. A densely planted nano aquarium with gentle flow, soft acidic to neutral water and subdued lighting suits it well. Because of its small mouth it needs finely crushed flake, micro-pellets and small live or frozen foods such as baby brine shrimp. It makes an excellent dither fish alongside other peaceful nano species and shrimp.
