Celestial Pearl Danio

Danio margaritatus
French name : Danio galaxy

The celestial pearl danio is a tiny, jewel-like cyprinid in the family Cyprinidae, discovered in shallow highland ponds near Hopong in Myanmar. Its dark blue body is scattered with pearly spots, and its fins are marked with bold red or orange bands, especially vivid in males. It is a peaceful but somewhat shy shoaling fish best kept in a group, where males display and spar harmlessly. It stays mostly in the lower and middle water among plants. It suits a densely planted nano aquarium with gentle flow, cool to moderate temperatures, and calm tank mates that will not outcompete it for food. It eats small foods such as micro-pellets, frozen daphnia, and baby brine shrimp. It is an egg-scatterer that breeds readily among fine plants or moss, though adults will eat the eggs.
