Glowlight danio

Danio choprae, the glowlight danio, is a small cyprinid in the family Cyprinidae, native to fast, clear hill streams of northern Myanmar. It has a golden body crossed by bright orange-red vertical bars and dark blotches toward the tail, giving it a glowing, patterned appearance. It is a peaceful, energetic shoaling fish best kept in groups of eight or more, where it displays constant activity and its best color. It suits a calm community of small, gentle species. It thrives in a planted aquarium with cooler, well-oxygenated water and gentle to moderate flow that mimics its stream habitat. An omnivore, it readily takes small flakes, micropellets, and live or frozen foods such as daphnia and cyclops. It is an egg-scattering species that can be bred in groups over a substrate or mesh that protects the non-guarded eggs.
