Chili Rasbora

Boraras brigittae
French name : Rasbora chili

The chili rasbora is a micro cyprinid in the family Cyprinidae, native to blackwater peat swamps of Borneo, Indonesia. Despite its tiny size it is intensely colored, with a glowing red body and a dark lateral stripe, brightest in displaying males. It is a peaceful, slightly timid shoaling fish that should be kept in a good-sized group to feel secure and show its best color. It occupies the middle water among plants and moves in loose schools. It is ideal for planted nano aquariums with soft, acidic blackwater conditions, gentle flow, subdued light, and only very calm tank mates or none at all. Its small mouth requires tiny foods such as crushed flakes, micro-pellets, and baby brine shrimp. It will spawn among fine plants and moss in suitable soft water, scattering a few eggs at a time.
