Skunk corydoras

Corydoras arcuatus
French name : Corydoras arqué

The skunk corydoras is a small armored catfish of the family Callichthyidae, native to the upper Amazon region of South America. It has a pale body crossed by a bold black stripe that runs along the top of the back and curves down through the snout, giving a skunk-like pattern. It is a peaceful, sociable bottom-dweller that should be kept in a group of six or more of its own kind, where it forages actively and feels secure. It mixes well with other calm community fish and is a good tankmate for small tetras and rasboras. It prefers soft, slightly acidic, clean water and a soft sand or smooth gravel substrate that protects its delicate barbels. It is an omnivorous scavenger that takes sinking pellets, tablets, and frozen foods, but should not be relied on to survive on leftovers alone. It is an egg-layer that can be bred with cool water changes to trigger spawning.
