Spotted Cory

Corydoras ambiacus
French name : Corydoras ambiacus

Corydoras ambiacus is a small, peaceful armored catfish from the upper Amazon Basin, recognizable by its finely spotted body and dark blotch on the dorsal fin. It is a gregarious bottom-dweller that must be kept in groups of at least six to feel secure and display natural foraging behavior. Provide a soft sand substrate to protect its delicate barbels, gentle current, subdued lighting, and plenty of shade from plants or wood. It is an ideal community fish, coexisting peacefully with tetras, rasboras, and other small, calm species. Prefers soft, slightly acidic water at pH 6.0-7.5 and 22-26C, though it tolerates a range if changes are gradual. An omnivore, it accepts sinking pellets, wafers, frozen bloodworms, and micro-foods; ensure it gets its share on the bottom.
