Redfin hap
The redfin hap is a cichlid (family Cichlidae) endemic to Lake Malawi in East Africa. Dominant males are dark blue-black with a bright yellow blaze on the forehead and reddish fins, while females and non-dominant males are a plainer silvery-brown, showing strong sexual dichromatism. It is a moderately aggressive, territorial cichlid, especially at spawning time. It is best kept with one male to several females and alongside other Malawi cichlids that can hold their own without matching it in aggression. A large aquarium with abundant rockwork forming caves and territories, plus hard, alkaline water, suits it well. It is an omnivore leaning carnivorous, feeding around rocks; it accepts quality cichlid pellets and frozen foods. It is a maternal mouthbrooder, the female carrying eggs and fry in her mouth for protection over several weeks.
