Bumblebee goby

The bumblebee goby is a tiny brackish-water fish in the family Gobiidae, native to coastal streams and estuaries of Southeast Asia. It is named for its bold pattern of alternating black and yellow bands wrapping a short, rounded body. It is a bottom-oriented, mildly territorial fish that does best in a small group where each individual claims a little cave or shelter. It is peaceful toward other species but interacts busily among its own kind. It is best kept in a dedicated brackish setup with fine substrate, plenty of hiding spots, and gentle flow. It can be a fussy eater that prefers live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms over flakes. Because it competes poorly with fast, boisterous fish, calm tank mates and light salt are key to keeping it healthy.
